The Muscular Dystrophy Registry Nigeria (MDRN) Student Research Volunteer Programme is an initiative designed to engage students in research, advocacy, awareness creation, and activities that support the development of muscular dystrophy research and patient data in Nigeria.
Coordinated by Dr Zainab Arogundade, the programme provides students with opportunities to contribute their skills in areas such as research support, data management, content creation, social media engagement, and community awareness.
By bringing together students who are passionate about research, healthcare, and advocacy, MDRN aims to encourage youth participation in efforts to improve understanding of muscular dystrophy and strengthen the evidence base for better care and support.
The programme forms part of the wider MDRN initiative, which seeks to improve the visibility of people living with muscular dystrophy, support research, and lay the foundation for greater rare disease data equity in Africa.
Through this initiative, DTMDF and MDRN hope to nurture a new generation of students who can contribute to research, patient advocacy, and the advancement of neuromuscular health in Nigeria.
Are you an aspiring doctor, researcher, healthcare professional, or student passionate about
making a difference?
