Adedotun Tejuoso: A Champion for Change
Adedotun Tejuoso’s journey as a champion for change began years ago when he discovered that he had Muscular Dystrophy during his undergraduate years at Bowen University, Iwo, Osun State. Instead of letting this condition hinder him, Adedotun embarked on a remarkable journey of resilience and determination.
After earning his BSc in Sociology, he pursued further education, obtaining a master’s degree in Global Management from the University of Central Lancashire, United Kingdom. This pursuit of knowledge and academic excellence reflects his unwavering commitment to personal growth and development.
Adedotun’s passion lies in advocating for people with disabilities, especially those living with muscular dystrophy. As the founder of the Dotun Tejuoso Muscular Dystrophy Foundation (DTMDF), he has dedicated himself to making a tangible difference in their lives. DTMDF provides essential assistance to disabled individuals in various IDP camps across Nigeria. Additionally, Adedotun facilitates training programs that empower people with disabilities with valuable skills.
In 2019, Adedotun co-convened the RAMP UP Nigeria project, an initiative advocating for the installation of ramps in public buildings, government agencies, and private organizations in Oyo State and throughout Nigeria. This project aims to enhance accessibility and inclusivity for individuals with disabilities.
DTMDF has also formed partnerships with disability schools and homes in Oyo State, furthering its commitment to supporting the welfare of people living with disabilities.
Adedotun’s dedication extends beyond the disability advocacy sector. During his tenure as the director of Social Services at The English Manner, Nigeria, he facilitated vital connections between external customers and internal operations. He also educated families and community members about courtesy and addressed issues related to domestic violence, with a particular focus on its impact on children.
Currently serving as an assistant manager at the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC), Adedotun oversees staff welfare and conducts examinations of banks insured by the Corporation. His role showcases his ability to balance a successful career with his tireless efforts in advocacy and community support.
Outside of his professional life, Adedotun is a devoted family man, blessed with a beautiful daughter. His story serves as an inspiring testament to resilience, compassion, and the unwavering commitment to creating a more inclusive and equitable society for all.
